WELCOME TO MY BLOG

The upcoming weekend in northern Arizona is a big bash and rodeo. Everyone around here likes to call this the oldest rodeo in the American West. There will be Bluegrass bands and many people in the town square under temperatures of 90 plus degrees. Personally, I prefer cooler places to have fun. My husband and I have shared some of the best fourth of July celebrations in different areas around the country. My favorite was in Stanley, Idaho. We had a great room on the second floor of a hotel on the main highway, and the fireworks were shot off the top of a hill in an area where fire danger was not an issue. At nine thirty in the evening we grabbed a quilt and cuddled up on the balcony and enjoyed the magic of the evening. It was thirty five degrees outside. What romance writer could ask for more. A cold night, a warm man, and fireworks!

Have a great weekend and be safe. From our house to yours, happy July 4, 2009.

Till next time,

Cierra James

  7. Fourth of July holidays can be so memorable, can't they? I've had memories of them as a kid on Long Island, stretched out on the High School football field as the volunteer fire department supervised the fireworks, but my favorites have always been the ones at the Pennsylvania cottage my grandparents built, a beautiful vista of the mountaintop and the lake, and the cottages around the perimeter with sparklers and a few gusy with a few too many beers in them rowing around the lake setting off the bigger boomers. Your memory sounds lovely and perfect for the kernel of a story. Enjoy your blog and I'm sure you will always find inspiring subjects to write of. Happy Fourth of July and may your memories always be lusty, happy and joyful.

  8. Attractive blog. I love rodeos, anything with cowboys, but, like you, cooler places are for me. Right now, it's hot and humid in Florida. The mosquitos are terrible. We'll probably stay home and watch the fireworks from our front porch.

Speaking of cowboys, there's plenty of fireworks in Lawmen and Outlaws Anthology, available at www.thewildrosepress.com
